Common Questions About Our Dance Socials
Everything you need to know about joining our weekend gatherings across Dublin, Dún Laoghaire, Cork, and Ireland's coastal towns
Not at all! Our gatherings are designed for all experience levels, whether you've never danced salsa or kizomba before or you're looking to refresh your skills. We welcome complete beginners, and many of our regular members started exactly where you are now.
Kizomba is a slower, more intimate partner dance with smooth hip movements originating from Angola, while salsa is more energetic and fast-paced with sharp footwork. Both are fantastic for connection and musicality! At our Dublin and Cork events, we offer guidance in both styles so you can explore what resonates with you.
We host weekend gatherings regularly in Dublin (typically 2-3 times per month), monthly themed nights in Cork, and seasonal beachside socials in Dún Laoghaire during warmer months. Costs are modest—usually €8-12 per event—to cover venue hire and live or quality DJ music, keeping our community accessible for everyone.
Absolutely not. Many of our members come solo, and rotating partners during the evening is part of the fun—it's how you meet people and improve your connection skills. We create a welcoming environment where solo dancers feel comfortable and included.
Our coastal events combine dancing with stunning seaside scenery. You'll enjoy Latin music and social dancing along the Dún Laoghaire pier or seafront, weather permitting. It's relaxed, informal, and a wonderful way to connect with others while enjoying the Irish coast—bring a light layer if it's a cooler evening!
You can browse our upcoming gatherings on our main website and get in touch through our contact page to join our mailing list. We'll send you details about Dublin kizomba socials, Cork themed nights, Dún Laoghaire beachside events, and other coastal town gatherings as they're planned.
